As the medical director I would like to take this opportunity to share with you who we are and what we do.

The Center at Zaragoza was created to help patients recovering from illness or injury to reach their highest level of independence and wellness. We accept medically stable patients who have had a recent hospital stay and wish to continue their recovery process in a comfortable and private environment.

Since The Center at Zaragoza is not a hospital there are a few differences that you may notice after arriving here. We are licensed by the state of Texas as a skilled nursing facility. That means that we are capable of providing care to patients who have had their acute or surgical illness dealt with at the hospital and now are ready to begin the process of achieving wellness prior to going home.

We do provide care for medically complex patients. Patients that require oxygen, frequent monitoring, have breathing tubes, feeding tubes, have limited mobility or have large wounds are our specialty. The following is a list of just a few of the conditions that we care for and treat at The Center at Zaragoza: congestive heart failure, diabetes mellitus, total knee, hip or shoulder arthroplasty, recovery from stroke, recovery from heart attack, infection requiring intravenous antibiotics, recovery from abdominal surgery, complex wounds, pneumonia, cellulitis, recovery from amputation, paraplegia, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, geriatric decline, Alzheimer’s dementia, diverticulitis, hypertension, peptic ulcer disease, peripheral vascular disease, kidney failure, deep venous thrombosis, emphysema, asthma, recovery from hip fracture or fall, pelvic fracture and ongoing cancer care. There are literally hundreds more, but I think you get the picture.

Our combination of resort like accommodations, all private rooms with all private baths, gourmet meals, a state of the art gym, and top notch nurses and therapists make The Center at Zaragoza one of the highest ranked centers in Colorado. We are working towards a 5 star rating by Medicare. This is the highest ranking that a facility such as ours can receive. We have put all of this together to serve you…our patient and guest.
